Job summary

Applied Composites is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer 3 in Los Alamitos, CA. The role focuses on developing manufacturing methods, tooling, and industrialization plans for composite components in aerospace applications.

Requires 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing with composites, AS9100 knowledge, and strong CATIA V5/FiberSim skills. The position offers full-time work in a collaborative, multi-functional environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent; 5+ years aerospace manufacturing experience preferred, including composite structures.
• Experience in tooling, BOMs, labor-hour estimation, and manufacturing processes for composites.
• Knowledge of aerospace specs and quality practices (AS9100) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing methods, tooling statements of work, and equipment specs for current and new programs.
• Estimate labor hours using data, time studies, or parametric equations and prepare BOMs.
• Obtain tooling quotes and supplier pricing; support material sourcing.
• Prepare technical content for proposals; describe manufacturing approaches and tooling streams.
• Identify material/process trade-offs to improve properties, cut costs, and boost efficiency.
• Apply lean principles to reduce cost, variation, cycle time, and improve yields.
• Manage projects from start to finish with schedules and cost estimates.
• Provide engineering support to operations and perform tests and status reporting.
• Train personnel on composite processing methods and update training materials.
