Job summary

Applied Composites is seeking an Engineer 3, Manufacturing in Los Alamitos, CA to develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and industrialization plans for aerospace composite parts. You will work in a multi-functional team, estimating labor hours from historical data and time studies, and resolving manufacturing challenges.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing, strong knowledge of autoclave curing, GD&T, and experience with CATIA V5 and FiberSim.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• 5+ years aerospace manufacturing experience preferred, 3+ years in composite structures.
• Experience with autoclave cured composites and associated lay-up methods.
• Ability to read customer specs and 2D drawings with GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with engineering BOMs, labor-hour estimation, and tooling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing methods, tooling statements of work, and equipment specs.
• Estimate labor hours using data and time studies.
• Obtain tooling quotations from internal/external sources.
• Collaborate with buyers for material pricing.
• Prepare technical content for proposals detailing manufacturing approaches.
