Job description

Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip, 56 times larger than GPUs. Our novel wafer-scale architecture provides the AI compute power of dozens of GPUs on a single chip, with the programming simplicity of a single device. This approach allows Cerebras to deliver industry-leading training and inference speeds and empowers machine learning users to effortlessly run large-scale ML applications, without the hassle of managing hundreds of GPUs or TPUs.

Cerebras' current customers include global corporations across multiple industries, national labs, and top-tier healthcare systems. In January, we announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership with Mayo Clinic, underscoring our commitment to transforming AI applications across various fields. In August, we launched Cerebras Inference, the fastest Generative AI inference solution in the world, over 10 times faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services.

Cerebras is developing a radically new chip and system to dramatically accelerate deep learning applications. Our system runs training and inference workloads orders of magnitude faster than contemporary machines, fundamentally changing the way ML researchers work and pursue AI innovation.

We are innovating at every level of the stack – from chip, to microcode, to power delivery and cooling, to new algorithms and network architectures at the cutting edge of ML research. Our fully-integrated system delivers unprecedented performance because it is built from the ground up for deep learning workloads. The system is fed with a high performance I/O subsystem based on the latest industry standard network protocols.

Cerebras is building a team of exceptional people to work together on big problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifying and fixing manufacturing problems during the PCBA and system assembly process.
  • Managing the manufacturing and delivery of new complex physical products.
  • Identify key manufacturing performance index & metrics measurement for periodic review.
  • Driving corrective actions and documenting procedures in an outsourced manufacturing model.
  • Managing manufacturing and quality issues on the outsourced production line.
  • Identifying process, material, design and test program issues.
  • Forecasting equipment, tooling, and production capacity.
  • Managing tooling and fixture development, procurement, purchasing, installation and on-going support.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive DFx and manufacturability.
  • Leading root cause analysis and corrective action on process and quality issues.
  • Escalate critical quality issues to engineering teams and management.
  • Assembly risk assessment with 3D drawings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline (i.e., Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical).
  • Experience in printed circuit board assembly/debug and complex system assembly/debug.
  • 10+ years manufacturing experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with complex electrical product assembly, rework processes.
  • Knowledge about process failure analysis tools (AOI, AXI, ICT, etc).
  • Knowledge of DFX, DOE, FMEA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with 3D Drawing software SolidWorks, or other mechanical drawing software.
  • Familiarity with assembly fixtures development and assembly automation.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively across different functional teams.
  • Good communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving.
