Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong experience in electronics or electromechanical production and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of NP I, DFM/DFT, Lean or Six Sigma, and cross‑functional leadership.
  • CAD tools proficiency and ability to document PFMEA and control plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for electronics assembly, box‑build, cable and harness production.
  • Analyze production workflows and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operations.
  • Design and implement tooling and fixtures; support new product introduction (NPI) and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians; participate in customer technical discussions and strategic decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

ACDi (“In Touch With Technology”) is a dynamic electronics manufacturing and engineering partner with facilities in Frederick, MD, Nashville, NC, and Branford, CT.

Role Description

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Frederick, MD. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and documenting manufacturing processes for electronics assembly, box‑build, cable and harness production, and related operations. Daily activities include analyzing production workflows, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will design and implement tooling and fixtures, support new product introduction (NPI), troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position also mentors junior engineers and technicians, supports customer technical discussions, and contributes to strategic process and technology decisions.

Qualifications
  • Strong background in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Processes, with experience in electronics or electromechanical production environments.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering principles applied to process design, workflow optimization, and production line layout.
  • Hands‑on experience with Machining and related fabrication techniques for tooling, fixtures, and production aids.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Experience with NPI, DFM/DFT, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process flows, PFMEA, control plans).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional projects, mentor team members, and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or medical instrumentation manufacturing standards; experience in AS9100 or similar quality environments is preferred.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Frederick, MD and support occasional customer or supplier visits as needed.
