Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for the Eagle Eye program to own the manufacturing value chain from prototyping to high-volume production.   • Familiarity with MES, test executive software.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage NPI expertise to transition electromechanical products from prototype to high-volume production.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement semi and fully automated solutions for electromechanical assemblies.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering early to feedback on manufacturability.
  • Own the manufacturing value chain for EagleEye systems.
  • Develop tooling and fixturing for assembly, quality, and test.
  • Create process flows by breaking down assemblies into subassemblies and sub-processes.
  • Write work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Hands-on work with technicians and engineers building prototype hardware.
  • Contribute to mechanical/electrical design, interconnects, board fabrication and inspection.

SUMMARY - ABOUT THE TEAM / JOB

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Eagle Eye Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware for the Warfighter. This responsibility includes everything in the manufacturing value-chain, including but not limited to, Design for Manufacturability work, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the hardware that the Manufacturing Engineer owns.

The right person for this role can demonstrate past holistic ownership on solving a technical challenge with a creative, physical, solution that they either personally manufacturing or oversaw manufacturing on, in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Leverage expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) to seamlessly transition electromechanical products from prototype to high-volume production, optimizing manufacturability and supply chain scalability.
  • Work closely with cross functional manufacturing teams to implement semi and fully automated solutions for electromechanical assemblies
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering teams early in the development process to feedback Design For Manufacturability
  • Own the manufacturing value chain for one or more of the EagleEye family of systems
  • Develop novel tooling and fixturing solutions for assembly, quality and test
  • Develop process flows, breaking down large, complex assemblies into a logical part flow of subassemblies and sub-processes
  • Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing their hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.
  • Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardware
  • Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication and inspection, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in a technical field preferred such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.
  • A genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning
  • Familiarity with MES, test executive software
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examples
  • Software scripting experience in any language
  • Proficient at CAD and PLM software
US Salary Range

$146,000 - $194,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
