• 8+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with process drawings and GD&T, ideally ASME Y14.5.
• Experience in an AS9100 quality environment.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, gauging, and inspection.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements and ITAR/EAR data.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of manufacturing processes across one or more product lines from development to production.
• Develop manufacturing methods, process drawings, and work instructions for metal tubular components.
• Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation with revision control.
• Review drawings for accuracy and compliance with GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and customer requirements across programs.
• Research, design, and select tooling, fixturing, and gauging for processes.
• Investigate issues and determine root cause using 8D, 5 Why, and other methods.
• Provide guidance on disposition of non-conformances.
• Analyze inspection and manufacturing data to identify trends and improvements.
• Create mechanical testing reports to support development and CI.
• Support technical assessments and quotations.
• Collaborate with teams to improve efficiency and lean initiatives.

The Opportunity

We are currently supporting a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is a hands‑on role where you will take ownership of one or more product lines and manage the manufacturing process from development through to production.

You will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and inspection teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, improve processes, reduce costs, and ensure consistently high‑quality output.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing or Process Engineer looking to take ownership of complex aerospace manufacturing processes within a highly technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of manufacturing processes across one or more product lines from development through to production.
• Develop manufacturing methods, process drawings, and detailed technical work instructions for metal tubular components.
• Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation and revision control.
• Review manufacturing drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements across multiple programmes.
• Research, design, and select appropriate tooling, fixturing, and gauging for manufacturing processes.
• Investigate manufacturing issues and determine root cause using 8D, 5 Why, and other problem‑solving methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance on the disposition of non‑conformances.
• Analyse inspection and manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Create mechanical testing reports and graphs to support process development and continuous improvement.
• Support technical assessments, engineering calculations, and commercial quotation activities.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Help develop safe working procedures and actively contribute to a strong safety culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with process drawings and GD&T, ideally to ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Experience working within an AS9100 quality environment.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, gauging, and inspection.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Hands‑on approach with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a cross‑functional engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements and access to ITAR/EAR-regulated technical data.
