Job summary

Hanwha Materials Savannah LLC in Midway, GA is seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and cost accounting.

You will partner with the Accounting Manager and plant operations to provide accurate reporting and actionable insights that support business decisions. This role requires attention to detail, ownership of process improvements, and the ability to work across functions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statements.
• Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or unusual activity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with plant and finance teams.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies in stores, raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Support product costing, standard cost updates, and manufacturing variances analysis.
• Monitor plant expenses and explain significant variances.
• Fill in for AP/AR as needed during vacation or PTO.
• Track capital project expenditures with budget-to-actual reporting.
• Prepare recurring reports and ad hoc analyses for management.
• Support audits by providing schedules and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
• Backup Payroll and Benefits Administrator as needed.
