Job summary

Wieland Designs, a Goshen, Indiana-based family-owned furniture design and manufacturing company, seeks a hands-on Controller. This senior role partners with the CEO and CFO during a leadership transition and directs the accounting function, delivering timely financial statements and actionable insights to drive operational improvement.

You will lead a small accounting team, own the close process, and connect financial results to labor, margin, inventory, and working capital.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible accounting experience with close, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Manufacturing accounting experience and ability to tie financial results to operational drivers.
• Experience leading and developing accounting staff.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and practical applying it to operations.
• Experience with ERP-based accounting systems; Epicor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop an accounting team of ~3 with clear priorities and backup coverage.
• Own the general ledger, monthly close, reconciliations, financial statements, and recurring management reporting.
• Present financial results to the management team and translate trends into business actions.
• Partner with operating leaders to improve revenue, margin, labor, inventory and working capital.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for the company size and complexity.
• Oversee cash receipts, credit, payroll controls, banking authorizations, and tax filings.
• Coordinate year-end accounting, audits, tax, banking, and external accounting activities.
• Improve usefulness and efficiency of financial systems and reporting.
