Job summary

Xcimer Energy, based in Denver, CO, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Development Engineer to lead automated equipment development for high-volume fusion manufacturing.

You will own projects from concept to deployment, collaborating across mechanical, electrical, controls, and quality teams to improve throughput, reliability, and scalability of production lines. The role emphasizes hands-on design, prototyping, debugging, and rapid problem solving in a fast-moving development environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in production line development.
• Experience integrating industrial robotic systems.
• SolidWorks with GD&T and drawing release for automated equipment.
• Experience delivering robotics/capital equipment projects from concept through commissioning using Jira.
• Lean, Six Sigma, structured problem solving.
• Machine vision systems integration.
• Clear written and verbal communication; cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Lead design and implementation of robotic manufacturing cells.
• Coordinate controls and electrical integration with PLCs and HMI.
• Provide DFMEA/PFMEA risk analysis and mitigation.
• Plan multiple projects with milestones and cross-functional teams.
• Optimize workflows: cycle times, material flow, ROI.
• Create technical documentation and handover packages.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance with EHS.
• Manage suppliers and integrators for robots and palletizers.
