Job summary

CA C I is seeking a skilled Chinese/Mandarin Instructor to support a high-priority customer mission. This is a full-time, in-person role requiring teaching and language assessment responsibilities, with a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

The ideal candidate will have strong adult teaching experience, adapt materials to learner needs, and ensure accuracy in translation and editing of materials into American English. Sponsorship for the clearance process is available after language assessments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or from the country where the target language is spoken; 5+ years direct adult teaching experience or 7–10 years relevant experience or a master’s degree with 6–8 years relevant experience
• Ability to pass an advanced English proficiency translation assessment at level 4 or higher (Senior Level)
• Ability to achieve ILR Level 5/5/5 in speaking, listening, and reading in the target language
• Strong understanding of geopolitical, cultural, regional, and ethnic dynamics of the relevant language areas
• Proficient with MS Office and skilled in online research

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑person instruction to advanced‑level adult students (ILR 2–3).
• Apply linguistic expertise and teaching skills to support mission requirements.
• Summarize, gist, translate, triage, and edit foreign-language materials into American English.
• Deliver instruction with cultural, regional, and geopolitical context.
• Maintain instructional excellence and adapt materials to learner needs.
