Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Managing Administrative Law Judge in its DOF Adjudication Division to oversee Borough Business Centers and manage hearing operations for parking and camera violations. You will supervise Administrative Law Judges and staff, applying strong legal expertise and policy judgment in a fast-paced government setting.

Requirements include NYS Bar admission, four years of relevant legal experience post-admission, and supervisory experience in administrative or executive

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar and four years of full-time legal experience after admission.
• Eighteen months in supervision of other attorneys in administrative, managerial, or high-level legal work.

Responsibilities

• Advise and direct the Agency's Administrative Law Judges and support staff.
• Exercise legal knowledge, judgment, and experience in vehicle and traffic law and administrative policy.
• Serve as advisor to the division’s Chief Administrative Law Judge and exercise independent initiative on questions of the law.
