Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates seeks a Technical Accounting Senior Manager to partner with Mars business segments on technical accounting matters, investment accounting, policy, external reporting and special projects. You will act as a trusted partner, delivering recommendations based on technical experience and leading policy and implementation efforts.

The role offers collaboration with Corporate Controller's group and external auditors in a global setting.

Qualifications

• Around 10–12 years of accounting and auditing experience, including audit/advisory with a Big Four firm.
• CPA certification or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial systems and controls.
• Experience in corporate controller’s organization with policy and technical accounting focus.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical accounting partner for complex, non-routine transactions and communicate impacts across external reporting and management accounting.
• Lead U.S. GAAP standard implementation and enterprise-wide adoption strategies.
• Own and modernize internal accounting policies within the Finance Manual.
• Design and deliver training sessions and policy communications for Segment Finance leads and CFOs.
• Support corporate-initiated strategic projects, incl. M&A, divestitures, JVs, and financing arrangements.
• Partner with External Reporting to drive an efficient year-end close.
