Job summary

CohnReznick is seeking a Tax Senior Manager - Quality Assurance and Risk Management to join the National Tax team. This remote role supports reviewing tax quality and risk across complex client matters while collaborating with the Tax practice and leadership.

The position reports to the Head of Tax Risk and emphasizes deep technical tax knowledge, planning, and retrospective inspections. Virginia-based compensation ranges from $150,000 to $250,000 with discretionary bonus and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Broad relevant experience in tax compliance, tax accounting, and/or tax consulting.
• Strong technical skills in tax concepts and rules.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently with guidance in deadlines and multiple projects.
• 7+ years of experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, EA, JD or LLM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tax quality reviews from a tax technical and policy perspective on various return types.
• Research complex federal and state income tax topics.
• Curate technical topics from reviews for training tax team members.
• Assist with tax risk presentations.
• Be a tax technical resource to the Tax practice.
• Draft and/or review technical memoranda and tax alerts.
• Assist client teams with complex transactions to identify risk areas prior to execution.
• Review and analyze tax returns and other information to identify risk mitigation items.
