Senior Manager, Sales and Revenue Forecasting


Location: Virtual, remote worker location possible


Studio Business Group (SBG) is looking for a Senior Manager, Sales and Revenue Forecasting who will be responsible for delivering sales and revenue forecast for 1st party games at any stage of their lifecycle - from early concepting to post-launch live operations. This is a newly formed role and team, amalgamating responsibilities that until now have been performed by many parts of the organization into one end-to-end team covering all sales and revenue forecasting analysis. You will report to the Director of Sales and Revenue Forecasting and be responsible for delivering credible, robust, and up-to-date forecasts supporting investment decisions, project progress reviews, and both short-term and long-term plans. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate assumptions and inputs drive the forecast, including strategy and portfolio, market and audience research, player testing, product management, studios, developers, and marketing. This role will be central to many decision-making processes, requiring sound gaming market understanding, solid judgment, objectivity, and resilience under stakeholder pressures.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsibility for sales and revenue forecasting supporting investment decisions, title progress reviews, and business planning
  • Forecasting for player acquisition, post-launch engagement, and monetization across PlayStation and other game formats
  • Acting as the focal point for forecasting support to studios, ensuring accurate and current information
  • Maintaining a robust revenue model for all games
  • Supporting publishing with forecasting and analysis for pricing, promotions, and sales tactics
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of junior forecasting staff
  • Monitoring sales and revenue performance, adjusting forecasts as needed
  • Collaborating with portfolio management, analytics, data science, developers, and value optimization teams
  • Aligning forecasts with product launch schedules and marketing campaigns
  • Developing and maintaining forecasting methodologies considering market risks and product features
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on forecasting tools, techniques, and trends
  • Delivering forecast updates, performance reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Developing dashboards to track key sales metrics and revenue indicators
  • Staying current with industry best practices and technological advancements

Qualifications & Skills:


  • BA/BS in business, strategy, finance, economics, or related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in market research, strategy, business intelligence, finance, or product management

  • Experience in the gaming industry is preferred
  • Strong understanding of sales cycles in digital and physical sales, DLCs, microtransactions, and subscriptions
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting to senior management
  • Data-driven approach with sound judgment and objectivity
  • Resilience under pressure from stakeholders
  • Self-starter with initiative and independence
  • Passion for the gaming industry
  • Strong work ethic and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
