Job summary

Apptronik, a human-centered robotics company in Texas, seeks a Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering to build and scale the Locomotion and Manipulation team. You will own the mechanical architecture and kinematics of Apollo’s arms, hands, legs, and mobility chassis, guiding design from prototype to manufacturability while coordinating with Actuation, Controls, and Electrical teams.

Applicants should have 8+ years in robotics/mechanical engineering, 3+ years in management, and expert Siemens

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, aerospace, automotive, or advanced electromechanical systems.
• 3+ years of direct engineering management experience.
• Experience operating in a matrixed organization.
• Deep hands-on background in mechanism design and kinematics.
• Expert Siemens NX with large assemblies and top-down modeling.
• Experience shipping dynamic moving hardware.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale the Locomotion and Manipulation team.
• Own mechanical architecture, structural design, and kinematics of Apollo’s arms, hands, legs, and mobility chassis.
• Establish and enforce design standards in Siemens NX; guide transitions from R&D to manufacturable assemblies.
• Mentor engineers and remove bottlenecks.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Actuation, Controls, and Electrical teams.
• Manage cross-disciplinary conflict and space claims.
