Job summary

Selby Jennings represents an established global organization in Austin, Texas, seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting & Revenue Recognition to join its accounting leadership team. The role reports to the Director and oversees revenue accounting, technical accounting, compliance, and financial reporting initiatives.

The successful candidate will review contracts under ASC 606, develop accounting policies, support SOX compliance, and collaborate with auditors during close cycles.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 4 years of Big 4 public accounting firm experience.
• Experience supporting technical accounting and revenue recognition in a complex environment.
• Experience with public company reporting (SEC).
• Knowledge of ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for revenue recognition and technical accounting matters.
• Maintain, interpret, and enforce accounting policies related to revenue recognition and other topics.
• Review customer agreements under ASC 606 to determine proper accounting.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders through the contract lifecycle.
• Provide guidance on technical accounting issues including revenue and inventory.
• Develop and deliver training on technical accounting topics.
• Support consolidation and compliance with US GAAP and SOX.
