Job summary

District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority is seeking a Senior Manager, Pumping Operations to lead the Pumping Operations Branch and oversee nine sewer, four water, sixteen storm water pump stations and eight water storage facilities across the District.

The role drives asset management, reliability, cost reduction, energy management, and regulatory reporting, partnering with SCADA-PCS and the Army Corps of Engineers, while aligning with DC Water’s strategic plans and budget processes.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressive pumping operations and maintenance experience, with supervisory responsibilities.
• Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Management from an accredited college.
• Strong analytical, planning, and leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day leadership for the Pumping Operations Branch and operate nine sewer pump stations, four water pump stations, sixteen storm water pump stations, and eight water storage facilities.
• Lead asset management, reliability, cost reduction, energy management initiatives and support maintenance programs.
• Develop and monitor KPIs; report monthly performance against forecast and benchmarks.
• Lead monthly pumping and consumption reconciliation reports to minimize losses.
• Utilize financial data to build business cases and prepare branch budgets.
• Coordinate with SCADA-PCS and other branches for continuous operation and control narratives.
