Job description

The Opportunity

As Senior Manager of Product Marketing at Coursedog, you'll lead the strategic vision and execution of our product marketing function, positioning our Intelligent Academic Operations Platform as the essential solution for higher ed institutions. You'll partner closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing leadership to drive go-to-market strategy, competitive positioning, and customer advocacy. You'll own translating market insights into compelling positioning and messaging that resonates across multiple buyer personas and use cases. You’ll drive alignment across teams and accelerate our market leadership in the higher ed space by balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, deep market research with rapid iteration, and customer empathy with business acumen.

If you're excited by the challenge of establishing Coursedog as the market leader in education operations and want to help institutions break down barriers to student success at scale, this is a chance to do meaningful work with real impact.

This position offers a competitive base salary between $125,000 - $130,000, based on experience and qualifications. The role also includes a performance-based variable compensation component, bringing total on-target earnings (OTE) to $135,000 - $150,000 when performance objectives are achieved.

What You'll Do
  • Own and evolve the overall product marketing strategy, including positioning, messaging architecture, and go-to-market plans across all platform modules and buyer segments
  • Oversee market and competitive research initiatives to inform segmentation, persona development, pricing strategy, and long-term product roadmap alignment
  • Drive alignment across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing leadership on strategy, messaging, and priorities—escalating and resolving conflicts to accelerate execution
  • Establish and oversee key performance indicators across product marketing activities, including pipeline influence, win rates, competitive win/loss analysis, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Develop comprehensive customer advocacy programs, including advisory boards, case studies, testimonials, and customer reference networks that amplify our market presence
  • Lead the creation and evolution of high-impact customer and prospect-facing assets—positioning documents, competitive battlecards, sales enablement materials, website content, videos, and thought leadership
  • Own sales enablement strategy and execution, ensuring sales teams have the insights, messaging, and tools to effectively communicate value to different buyer personas and use cases
  • Represent Coursedog as a thought leader and spokesperson at industry events, conferences, analyst briefings, and speaking engagements, often including presentations
  • Establish and nurture relationships with industry analysts, press, and key opinion leaders to shape market perception and third‑party credibility
  • Onsite travel for conferences and events expected 20% throughout the year
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance product marketing efficiency and effectiveness—from market research and content creation to competitive analysis and customer insights
What You'll Bring
  • 3-5 years of B2B SaaS product marketing experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or strategic role. Higher Ed experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Deep expertise in market research, competitive analysis, buyer persona development, and segmentation methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling positioning and messaging that resonates across multiple audiences and personas
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with execution excellence—able to set vision while rolling up sleeves to deliver high-quality assets
  • Experience driving sales enablement, working directly with sales teams, and measuring impact on pipeline and revenue outcomes
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence senior leadership across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—comfortable presenting to executives, customers, and external audiences internally and externally at conferences
  • Experience with SaaS pricing strategy, packaging, or go‑to‑market launches
  • Knowledge of or passion for the higher education market or complex B2B enterprise software environments
  • An empathetic, curious mindset paired with strong business acumen and ownership mentality
  • Experience using AI tools and technologies effectively to drive productivity and creativity in marketing strategy, content development, and cross‑functional collaboration

Working at Coursedog
Healthcare, Dental & Vision

We follow a fixed contribution model to promote equity and transparency. Every employee receives the same annual dollar amount to apply toward medical, dental, and vision coverage. This approach gives you the flexibility to choose the plan that best fits your needs, whether that is a base‑level option or more comprehensive coverage.

Depending on the selected coverage level, the company covers:

  • Employee‑only coverage: 65% to 99% of monthly premiums
  • Employee plus dependents: 45% to 75% of monthly premiums

We partner with Aetna and Guardian, and offer access to best‑in‑class wellness and support programs, including:

  • Spring Health (mental health support)
  • XP Health (vision benefits)
  • Carrot Fertility (family planning support)
  • One Medical (primary care)

We also support pre‑tax savings through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Retirement Planning

To support long‑term financial health, we offer a Safe Harbor 401(k) plan from day one of employment. Coursedog provides a 4% employer match on your total compensation (subject to federal limits) each pay period for employees contributing to a tax‑advantaged retirement account.

Paid Time Off

We trust our employees to manage their time responsibly. That’s why we offer an unlimited Paid Time Off policy — because flexibility and balance are critical for sustained excellence and personal well‑being.

Remote-First Since Inception

We were built for distributed work. Our culture emphasizes flexibility over rigidity, outcomes over hours, and transparency over gatekeeping. We are committed to being a remote‑first organization indefinitely, empowering you to work where and how you thrive best.

Equity

As a valued contributor to our collective success, you’ll participate in the upside. All employees are granted equity in the company aligned to your role and tenure. Equity grants are reviewed and adjusted with promotions to reflect your evolving impact.

Paid Parental Leave

We proudly support working parents with industry‑leading benefits. Employees are eligible for up to 12 weeks of fully paid leave. This benefit is available to all eligible employees, regardless of gender or family structure.
