Job summary

Twist Bioscience is seeking a Sr. Manager of Process Optimization & Industrial Engineering (onsite in Wilsonville, OR) to drive continuous improvement across high-throughput manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, continuous improvement, or manufacturing process optimization.
• 3–5+ years in a supervisory, management, or cross-functional leadership role.
• Experience in ISO 13485 or GxP-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze line performance data to identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
• Lead root cause analyses to reduce rework, scrap, and reprocessing.
• Develop prioritized improvement opportunities and evaluate process redesign vs. equipment investments.
• Build ROI models and business cases to support leadership decisions.
• Design and implement changes using IE tools and validate via pilots.
• Collaborate with Automation Engineering to scope equipment upgrades.
• Right-size staffing models while maintaining quality/compliance.
• Track KPIs (OEE, first pass yield, cycle time, cost-per-unit) over time.
• Ensure changes comply with GxP requirements and change control.
