The Senior Manager, Pricing will play a key leadership role in the firm’s Pricing and Practice Economics function, supporting the strategic direction of the team while leading much of its operations and execution. Working closely with the Director of AI Strategy and Implementation, this role will help ensure that the firm’s pricing, budgeting, matter economics, profitability analysis, rate support and related practice economics capabilities are delivered in a consistent, practical and business‑focused manner.

The Senior Manager, Pricing will serve as a trusted advisor to lawyers, practice group leaders, business professionals and firm leadership on pricing and practice economics issues. This role will help lead the team’s work in developing budgets and fee proposals, supporting alternative fee arrangements, advising on matter economics, conducting financial and profitability analyses, supporting rate‑setting processes and advancing tools and approaches that strengthen legal service delivery and client value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Pricing and Practice Economics team, overseeing daily operations, workflows, priorities and service delivery across concurrent requests.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop Pricing team members, while strengthening technical, consultative and client‑service capabilities.
  • Partner with the Director of AI Strategy and Implementation on strategic direction, team priorities and ongoing evolution of the Pricing function.
  • Lead the firm’s standard rate review and rate‑setting processes, including analyses related to periodic rate increases, new hire rates and rate changes associated with compensation or relocation changes.
  • Evaluate the impact of AI on pricing, profitability, staffing and service delivery, and help shape forward‑looking pricing strategies and value frameworks.
  • Advise lawyers, and stakeholders on pricing strategy, matter budgeting, fee arrangements and practice economics across matters of varying size and complexity.
  • Assist lawyers and stakeholders in evaluating and structuring alternative fee arrangements and other non‑standard pricing approaches.
  • Lead and support financial, profitability, rate‑setting and lateral hire analysis to inform firm, client and practice decision‑making.
  • Partner with lawyers, Marketing and Business Development, and other business professionals to support the economic case for client pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
  • Collaborate with legal operations and other internal teams on efforts to improve legal service delivery models, matter management approaches and value communication.
  • Develop and refine tools, processes, metrics, communication and training to improve pricing consistency, efficiency and stakeholder understanding.
  • Exercise sound judgment on pricing and economic matters while escalating high‑impact issues and independently managing a broad range of responsibilities.

Who Are You?
  • Significant experience in pricing, practice economics, finance or a related function within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of law firm economics, including matter profitability, rate structures, budgeting, alternative fee arrangements and client proposals or RFP processes.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Proven ability to manage team workflows, develop direct reports and advise senior stakeholders on pricing and business issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with professionalism, responsiveness, credibility and discretion.
  • Experience developing or improving pricing tools, reporting, templates and processes that drive consistency and better decision‑making.
  • Familiarity with law firm profitability tools, budgeting systems or related financial platforms.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and judgment, with the discretion to handle sensitive information and the flexibility to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience training or coaching lawyers and business professionals on pricing and practice economics concepts.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience managing, training and mentoring professionals
