Job summary

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) is seeking a Preparedness Grant Programs Section Manager to administer and manage state and federal grant programs. The role involves overseeing compliance, reporting, and program development for preparedness initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a four-year college degree, public administration experience, and demonstrated grant management and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
• Prefers three (3) years of professional experience administering federal grants.
• Prefers three (3) years of professional experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction, serves as the Preparedness Grant Programs Section Manager for IEMA-OHS.
• Serves as a full line supervisor.
• Develops, implements, and maintains the programs utilized by the Preparedness Grant Programs Section.
• Manages federal and state grant program requirements for timely reporting.
• Plans and confers with agency management for external and internal program reviews.
