Job description

We’re looking for a smart, creative, and driven Senior Manager, Pitches & Proposals to take a leading role in a growing, high-impact function with a top law firm.

You’ll lead a team of five while remaining hands‑on with some of the firm’s most important and high‑profile pitches, proposals, and RFPs. Working closely with attorneys, Client Growth leaders, pricing, and other stakeholders, you’ll turn complex information into clear, persuasive, client‑focused stories that differentiate the firm and make an impact.

You’ll be both strategist and storyteller, coach and collaborator — setting direction for your team while jumping into the details when the pursuit calls for it. From developing pursuit strategy and messaging to managing timelines, resources, and final submissions, you’ll own the process from first conversation to final pitch.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the strategy and execution of high‑value pitches, proposals, and RFPs from opportunity through submission.
  • Manage and mentor a team of five proposal professionals, helping them grow, develop, and expand their strategic impact.
  • Partner with attorneys and business development leaders to understand client priorities and create winning pursuit strategies.
  • Develop compelling messaging, narratives, and presentations that showcase the firm’s strengths and competitive edge.
  • Balance strategic oversight with hands‑on execution across a portfolio of practices and industries.
  • Manage competing deadlines, resources, workflows, and priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Bring a critical‑thinking mindset to pursuits — challenging assumptions, identifying opportunities, and recommending ways to strengthen the firm’s position.
  • Partner with pricing, matter planning, and client teams on fee strategy and proposal responses.
  • Help evolve the function through improved processes, knowledge management, technology, reporting, and best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and go‑to resource for attorneys and business development professionals.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience developing RFP responses, pitches, and proposals within a global law firm or similarly complex professional services environment.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing proposal/business development professionals.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple complex, high‑priority projects without losing the big picture.
  • Confidence partnering with senior attorneys and business leaders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Adobe Acrobat proficiency; experience creating polished, client‑facing materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with Saturno WebBack is a plus.

You’ll help shape how the firm competes, how its best work is positioned, and how a talented team grows.

If you’re someone who loves the intersection of strategy, storytelling, leadership, and business development — and gets energized by turning a complex pursuit into a compelling reason to say yes — this could be the opportunity for you.
