Job summary

Transamerica, a leading financial services company, seeks an experienced Operational Risk professional to lead risk management programs across PS&SI. You will identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks while partnering with leaders to maintain a strong risk profile.

You will work with finance, compliance, legal and technology teams to support risk initiatives, improve controls, and provide dashboards for management visibility. Hybrid work with occasional travel in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, business or related field.
• Eight years of experience in risk management, operational risk management, internal controls, audit or compliance.
• Experience leading operational risk management, internal controls, audit, governance or compliance activities.
• Expertise in control testing and operating effectiveness assessments.
• Knowledge of risk management principles, including risk assessments, process flows, control evaluation, testing, monitoring and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end business risk activities, including risk assessments, control evaluations, control testing, monitoring, remediation and identification of emerging risks.
• Support risk management activities for major PS&SI initiatives and strategic projects, assessing risk impacts and mitigation strategies.
• Recommend process and control improvements to strengthen risk mitigation, operational efficiency and quality outcomes.
• Manage risk issue activities, including identification, impact assessment, root cause analysis, action planning, validation and remediation tracking.
• Challenge process and business owners on risk decisions and remediation plans to ensure effective actions.
• Advise business leaders on complex risk matters and provide recommendations for informed decisions.
