Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Reliability Engineering team for a multi-cloud compute platform. You will oversee Kubernetes, service mesh, and identity services to ensure security and high availability across 1,000+ clusters on AWS, AliCloud, and GCP.

You will set the technical vision, partner with architects and product leaders, and grow a team of platform engineers focused on ownership, accountability, and scalable AI-enabled development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software development with hands-on Kubernetes, service mesh, and cloud.
• 3+ years of people management of engineering teams.
• Experience with Go or Python and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with AI multi-agent or retrieval-augmented generation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Reliability Engineering team responsible for a multi-cloud compute platform.
• Orchestrate monitoring, availability, and operations for microservices across a large fleet of clusters.
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for next-gen Service Mesh and Identity architecture.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering leaders to deliver features and pre-empt issues.
• Guide engineers in adopting AI-augmented development practices while maintaining architectural integrity.

Job description

• Join Salesforce as a Senior Manager based in San Francisco, leading the Reliability Engineering team that runs our multi-cloud compute platform
• Your team keeps Kubernetes, Service Mesh, Ingress Gateway, and Identity services secure and highly available across more than 1,000 clusters on AWS, Alibaba Cloud, and Google Cloud
• This is a critical leadership role blending deep technical expertise with a people-first leadership mindset. The leader will set the vision and drive the operations, reliability for the next-generation Service Mesh and Identity architecture across multiple clouds (AWS, AliCloud, GCP)
• Responsibilities include orchestrating, monitoring, availability and operations for the microservices supporting service mesh and ingress gateway on a large fleet of 1000+ clusters running various technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, network load balancers, service mesh, Istio and so on
• Lead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers, building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for the next generation of Service Mesh and Identity, and keep the platform reliable, observable, and self-healing at fleet scale
• Partner with architects, product owners, and engineering leaders to deliver features and spot issues before they affect customers
• Develop each engineer’s ability to work in an AI-augmented environment, own how AI tools fit into the team’s daily development cycle, and guard architectural integrity, security, and technical standards as AI-generated code increases
