Thompson Coburn LLP seeks a Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting & Integration to lead attorney recruitment and onboarding across multiple offices, including Birmingham. You will partner with leadership to shape recruiting strategies, oversee the Summer Associate program, and develop integration programs for new attorneys and partners.

The role requires 7+ years in legal recruiting, 3+ years of management, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
J.D. degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in legal recruiting or related field.
Minimum 3 years of preceding management experience.

Responsibilities

Partner with Chief Legal Recruiting Officer to develop attorney recruiting and integration strategies.
Provide leadership and oversight to the Legal Recruiting team.
Oversee the Summer Associate program.
Support hiring initiatives via market research and talent trends.
Maintain relationships with search firms, law schools, and industry contacts.
Develop and manage integration programs and onboarding for associates and partners.
Serve as primary contact for attorney integration matters.
Refine onboarding and integration processes and materials.
Track progress, produce reports, and capture lessons learned.
Supervise and coach coordinators and specialists; conduct evaluations and compensation reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Chief Legal Recruiting Officer to develop and execute attorney recruiting and integration strategies that support firm growth objectives.
Provide leadership and operational oversight to the Legal Recruiting team.
Oversee the firmwide Summer Associate program.
Support strategic hiring initiatives through market research, competitive intelligence, and analysis of attorney talent trends.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with legal search firms, law schools, recruiting organizations, and industry contacts.
Develop and manage integration programs and onboarding plans for entry-level associates, lateral attorneys, partners, and groups.
Serve as the primary point of contact for attorney integration matters.
Establish, implement, and continuously refine best practices, strategies, processes, and materials related to attorney onboarding and integration.
Track integration progress, prepare reports and metrics, evaluate outcomes, and document lessons learned.
Supervise the coordinator and specialist positions. Provide performance-related coaching and feedback to direct reports. Formally review and evaluate the performance and work of team members; prepare performance evaluations and recommend compensation adjustments.

This is a full-time position that requires working a minimum of 40 hours on a regular basis. Oftentimes, it may also require working outside of normal business hours to ensure the completion of position requirements.
Ability to travel as necessary.

Experience And Education Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in legal recruiting or a closely related field required.
Minimum of three (3) years prior management experience required.
Prior experience working within a law firm environment is required.
