Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with electrical EPC projects and construction.
  • Strong collaboration with senior leadership and client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of Discipline Engineering Directors and Managers.
  • Provide technical leadership and SME guidance across projects.
  • Recruit, interview, hire and train Directors/Managers in the department.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to grow the EE team’s expertise.
  • Act as Engineer of Record when needed and support project progress.
  • Coordinate with regional leadership to ensure engineering support.
  • Support QC reviews and allocate SME resources.
  • Develop equipment specs, bid packages and technical reviews.
  • Serve as primary technical contact to clients for progress queries.

We are looking for a talented Senior Manager with over 10 years of electrical EPC experience. You will oversee major projects, coordinate with project teams, and promote safety in construction activities. The ideal candidate should have strong project management and communication skills, coupled with a electrical engineering background

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains Director and Manager-level staff in the department

  • Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for leading and growing the EE team as they continue to evolve and expand their subject matter expertise
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert within their engineering discipline and provide project support in that role
  • Act as the Engineer of Record, as needed, to support various projects
  • Develop functional relationships with the organization's regional leadership to ensure that the regions are receiving the necessary engineering support
  • Support the QC group with technical engineering reviews and support QC resourcing with appropriate SME resources
  • Specifications of major equipment, development of equipment bid packages, technical equipment and commercial reviews, equipment bid recommendations, equipment drawing reviews
  • Serve as a technical point of contact to clients for technical and project progress related queries
  • Supports client development and relationships
  • Maintain current client relationships and identify new opportunities within existing client portfolios
  • Develop concept designs, alternative options, engineering calculations, analysis, resource allocation, and engineering estimates for projects
  • Perform or oversee designs for projects, developing conceptual design, and communicating the design to clients
  • Responsible for enforcing and maintaining all applicable standards/codes within EE team
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems, develop/review complex electrical system models and validate various system study findings/recommendations, develop electrical specifications for major electrical equipment, datasheets for instruments, specifications for PLC/DCS panel systems
  • Training, Development and Career Pathing
  • Help support the discipline engineering management in the development of career pathing within their disciplines
  • Works with executive leadership to develop and maintain the overall strategy for engineering training and development
  • Develop a EE team growth plan to build a growth strategy, identify current gaps, and implement a plan for their resolution
  • Responsible for growing a team, developing and maintaining programs that train, coach, and mentor engineers and designers
  • Evaluate, provide guidance, provide feedback, and run performance reviews with direct reports
Qualifications
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of industry-related experience
  • Five (5) years leadership or management
  • Multiple PE state registrations may be needed depending on business needs
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations, projects, and systems
  • The role is important to ensure engineers are qualified, experienced, trained, and prepared to adequately support engineering needs on projects, proposals, and execution in the field as well as ensuring we have engineers with the right skills and experience supporting projects
  • Support the maintenance of EE industry standards for company and communicate information across the company
  • Possess and maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and standards related to electrical engineering
  • Responsible for process development related to electrical engineering
  • Maintain current knowledge and general understanding of Utilities and Oil & Gas industry standards and codes
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering field required
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer
