Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems is seeking a Senior DevX Manager to own multiple charter areas, including our AI remote agent platform and standard agent suites. You will help define Crusoe’s engineering direction, partner with stakeholders, and drive a culture of excellence across the development organization.

You will lead efforts in toolling, automation, and infrastructure optimization to eliminate toil and accelerate delivery while ensuring security and reliability as Crusoe scales.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related analytical field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Experience leading multiple team charters in DevX, including managing other managers
• Expert ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and understand how infrastructure decisions impact daily developer productivity
• Go proficiency and strong Git-based workflow expertise (GitLab/GitHub)
• Proven DevOps/SRE/Release Engineering background with a cloud-native mindset
• Experience managing or developing within Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration
• Strategic ability to shape long-term objectives through technical insight and developer advocacy
• Hands-on Linux internals and building AI agent platforms for engineering teams
• Automation mindset to solve multi-layered problems and automate solutions
• Strong communication to partner with stakeholders and drive culture of engineering excellence

Responsibilities

Job description

• The Developer Experience (DevX) team is a high-impact group charged with fueling the future of Crusoe’s engineering muscle
• We’re responsible for critical developer tools and infrastructure that are used by all of Crusoe engineering
• We focus on accelerating development while ensuring we keep a high bar for quality
• We’re looking for a Senior manager who will own multiple charter’s within DevX, in particular our AI remote agent platform, a suite of standard agents (coding, reviewing, maintenance/upgrades) running on that platform and support for our coding harnesses
• You will play a critical role in shaping our technical direction, communicating a strategic vision, and fostering a company-wide culture of engineering excellence
• By partnering with stakeholders across the organization, you will define the future state of Crusoe’s evolving software development efforts and eliminate the friction that stands between an engineer and their “flow state”
• This is a full-time position for a visionary leader who wants to influence the long-term technical objectives of a company aligning the future of computing with the future of the climate
• Engineering Acceleration: Partner with the broader organization to build paved paths that engineers love to use. Our paved paths are fast, reliable and broadly adopted across all of engineering
• Toil Elimination: Ruthlessly identify and automate away the friction and repetitive tasks that slow down the development process, keeping Crusoe engineers in a state of high productivity
• Library & Environment Creation: Develop the libraries, tools, and pre-production environments necessary for vetting service APIs and complex microservice interactions
• Ecosystem Integration: Unify internal tooling and vendor services to automate workflows, build operational efficiency, and optimize security across the development stack
• Culture of Quality: Lead efforts to establish a culture of continuous quality delivery that scales seamlessly as our engineering headcount and infrastructure grow

• Modern Tooling Proficiency: Fluent knowledge of industry-standard AI tooling, build tooling, containerization, and open-source development frameworks
• Language & Version Control Mastery: Expertise in modern programming languages (specifically Go) and advanced proficiency in Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub)
• DevOps & Reliability Background: Proven experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Release Engineering, or a similar productivity-focused discipline
• Cloud-Native Expertise: Professional experience managing or developing within Kubernetes clusters and a deep understanding of container orchestration
• Strategic Vision: Experience informing long-term company objectives through technical insight and developer-centric advocacy
• Linux Internals: Hands-on experience with Linux image construction, package building
• AI Platforms: Experience building AI agent platforms for engineering teams
• Automation Mindset: A background in solving complex, multi-layered technical problems and then successfully automating the resulting solutions
