Subject is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as Senior Manager of Curriculum, stewarding and scaling Subject's research-grounded pedagogical framework (UbD, 5E, learning sciences) across all K–12 curriculum. This role reports to the Director of Education and manages subject area curriculum managers.
You’ll partner with the Director of Education to evolve and operationalize Subject's proven framework while leading curriculum managers to develop compelling, standards-aligned courses across all K–12 subjects. This requires deep pedagogical knowledge across multiple subjects, fluency translating research into practice at scale, expertise navigating state standards across multiple states, and the leadership to unify subject experts around one vision while honoring subject-specific excellence.
You understand the research foundations of how people learn and how great curriculum is designed. You know the work of Wiggins, McTighe, Dewey, Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, Marzano, Hattie—not as names in a bibliography, but as frameworks that shape your thinking. You can translate these ideas into curriculum that actually works in classrooms.
You're grounded in the history of K–12 education across multiple subjects. You understand what has been tried, what has succeeded, what has failed and why. You draw from that knowledge to make principled strategic choices. You have worked across multiple state standards frameworks and understand how to maintain consistency within variation.
You are a strategic partner with bias toward action and results. You can work alongside the Director of Education to shape and evolve a proven framework and ensure it gets executed with excellence and fidelity. You move fast without sacrificing quality or pedagogical integrity. You're relentless about finding ways to do more, better, faster. You understand that speed, quality, and rigor are all non-negotiable.
You think systemically. You see connections across subjects, understand how decisions in one area affect others, and are energized by the challenge of creating coherence across complexity while honoring each subject's distinct identity. You have the wisdom to know when to push hard for consistency and when to trust subject‑area experts to interpret the framework in their field.
You're excited by the opportunity to revolutionize online education through research‑based curriculum and AI that amplifies human expertise.
