ABOUT MODERNMD

ModernMD Urgent Care operates 11 centers across Brooklyn and Queens, serving approximately 150,000 patient visits annually across a predominantly Medicaid and Medicaid-managed-care population. We are expanding beyond urgent care into occupational health, employer services, and value-added membership programs, and are building the operational and technology infrastructure to support that growth.

THE OPPORTUNITY

ModernMD's occupational health line of business is growing quickly and needs a hands-on leader to run it day to day. This role owns employer relationships, program operations, and the systems and tools the business runs on, and manages a small team — a Training Specialist and an offshore administrative support resource — to execute against it. You'll work closely with our heads of training to keep employer requirements translated into clear operational and training standards across all sites.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
  • Occupational health program operations, including DOT physicals, employer drug screening, pre-placement physicals, and related employer-facing services across all 11 sites.
  • Employer onboarding and account management: agreements, portal setup, fee schedules, and day-to-day service delivery for a growing roster of employer clients.
  • Direct management of the Occupational Health Training Specialist and offshore administrative support resource, including workload prioritization, performance, and development.
  • Close, ongoing partnership with ModernMD's heads of training to ensure employer needs and requirements are clearly communicated and reflected in site-level training and workflows.
  • Configuration and maintenance of the systems the occupational health business runs on, including the eClinicalWorks occupational health module, employer portals, and provider scheduling tools.
  • Identification and rollout of automations and process improvements that reduce manual work — scheduling syncs, appointment alerting, booking workflows — using existing tools and platforms (e.g., Power Automate) and, where useful, light scripting.
  • Identification of new employer segments and service lines (e.g., workers' compensation, expanded screening panels) in partnership with the CEO and sales/marketing team.
  • Vendor evaluation and management for occupational health-specific platforms and tools.
  • Documentation of workflows and systems so they are maintainable and transferable across the team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years in healthcare operations, occupational health, employer health services, or a comparable multi-site services business, including people management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to run a business line independently — building and improving process, not just following one.
  • Comfort working with business systems and light technical tools: EMR modules, scheduling platforms, and low-code automation (e.g., Power Automate). Prior scripting experience (Python or similar) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with EMR or practice management systems; eClinicalWorks experience a strong plus.
  • Strong people-management and cross-functional communication skills — this role sits between employers, leadership, a training function, and an offshore admin resource, and needs to keep everyone aligned.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; healthcare administration, occupational health, or related background preferred.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience in an urgent care environment and/or with occupational health.
  • Prior experience managing an offshore or remote administrative team.
  • Prior experience selling into or managing employer/B2B accounts.
WHY THIS ROLE

You'll take ownership of a growing business line with a small, ready-made team to run it, and real autonomy to shape how it operates. You will work directly with the CEO and senior leadership, and your decisions on process, training alignment, and tooling will directly determine how fast occupational health scales across ModernMD's footprint and into new employer accounts.
