Job description

As our Senior Manager, you will be at the forefront of our modernization strategy for our Data Center in Hybrid Cloud architecture, responsible for network design, automation, and operations of high-quality security solutions utilizing next-generation distributed Firewall, software Load balancers, and appliances, building a cohesive, robust system. You will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will design and implement modern methods of policy enforcement, support make-before-break methodologies for network changes to achieve 99.9% availability, ensure audit compliance, thereby increasing the velocity of delivering products and unlocking new engineering capabilities with your deep technical expertise.

Our Senior Manager is a talent magnet and an engineering leader who works with the engineering staff to innovate and build new engineering solutions, improve, and enhance existing solutions, as well as leverage engineering solutions to solve critical operational problems. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in security software stacks and solutions, including SDN technologies and their applications in business settings, and is able to navigate complexities to deliver high-quality features and solutions in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities

1. Work with senior leadership to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate delivery timelines for milestones, and ensure projects are delivered on time.
2. Manage a team of security and open-source network stack engineers.
3. Build robust security solutions to efficiently orchestrate and manage network devices for bare metal, IaaS, and PaaS services.
4. Own the end-to-end delivery of team strategy and platforms.
5. Identify and raise project risks, presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternatives.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including storage and data engineers, developers, and cloud architects, to build high-performance network solutions ensuring compatibility and integration with overall system architecture.
7. Provide technical leadership and support related to security and SDN, including troubleshooting and resolving system issues to ensure high availability and performance.
8. Drive continuous improvement by staying updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring the security, stability, and scalability of the system architecture.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of security technologies, solutions, and deep network system design knowledge and experience.
• Familiarity with Software-Defined Network architectures and solutions, including network operating systems such as open source SONiC, traditional network protocols like BGP, and HW abstraction layers such as Open Compute SAI.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and their interaction with storage infrastructures.
• Demonstrated conflict management, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and adapt to new technologies.
• Strong understanding of SDN infrastructure for Hybrid Cloud, including public and private cloud environments, and experience with SDN Controllers such as ONOS SD-Fabric.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems and programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, GoLang.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams, build stakeholder relationships, and external partners.
• Ability to construct, interpret, and apply metrics to work and decision-making, using those metrics to drive prioritization and actions.

• 8+ years of experience with systems architecture and design.
• 4+ years of experience with open-source network solutions.
• 4+ years of experience working with hyperscale cloud provider solutions.
• 5+ years in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
• 5+ years supervising personnel in network solutions.
• 2+ years' experience with automated testing (Unit, Integration, End-to-End).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $261,500

The salary range is a general guideline, with final offers depending on various factors including experience, education, location, and market conditions.
