Job description

As our Senior Manager, you will be at the forefront of our modernization strategy for our Data Center in Hybrid Cloud architecture. You will be responsible for network design, automation, and operations of high-quality security solutions utilizing next-generation distributed firewalls, software load balancers, and appliances, building a cohesive, robust system. You will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will design and implement modern methods of policy enforcement, support 99.9% availability through make-before-break network change methodologies, and ensure audit compliance, thereby increasing the velocity of product delivery and unlocking new engineering capabilities with your deep technical expertise.

Our Senior Manager is a talent magnet and an engineering leader who works with the engineering staff to innovate, build new engineering solutions, improve existing solutions, and leverage engineering solutions to solve critical operational problems. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in security software stacks and solutions, including SDN technologies and their applications in business settings, and can navigate complexities to deliver high-quality features and solutions in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Work with senior leadership: Address project dependencies, negotiate, and estimate delivery milestones with stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
  2. Team management: Manage a team of security and open-source network stack engineers.
  3. Build security solutions: Develop robust security solutions to orchestrate and manage network devices across bare metal, IaaS, and PaaS services.
  4. Ownership: Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of team strategy and platforms.
  5. Risk management: Identify and raise project risks, presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternatives.
  6. Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams including storage, data engineers, developers, and cloud architects to build high-performance, compatible, and integrated network solutions.
  7. Technical leadership: Provide support and troubleshooting for security and SDN systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  8. Continuous improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to ensure system security, stability, and scalability.

Qualifications

  1. Strong understanding of security technologies, solutions, and deep network system design knowledge.
  2. Familiarity with SDN architectures and solutions, including network operating systems like open source SONiC, protocols such as BGP, and hardware abstraction layers like Open Compute SAI.
  3. Experience with virtualization technologies and their interaction with storage infrastructures.
  4. Conflict management, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  5. Ability to learn technical concepts and adapt quickly to new technologies.
  6. Deep understanding of SDN infrastructure for Hybrid Cloud environments, including public and private clouds, and experience with controllers like ONOS SD-Fabric.
  7. Proficiency in Linux OS and programming languages such as C/C#, Java, Python, GoLang.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  9. Ability to interpret and apply metrics to decision making and prioritization.

Desired Experience

  1. 10+ years in network operations and automation.
  2. 8+ years in systems architecture and design.
  3. 4+ years in open-source network solutions.
  4. 4+ years working with hyperscale cloud provider solutions.
  5. 5+ years in mission-critical environment development.
  6. 5+ years supervising network solutions personnel.
  7. 2+ years in automated testing (Unit, Integration, End-to-End).

Education

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $261,500.00
