• 8+ years of progressive database administration/engineering.
• 3+ years in people management or lead delivery roles.
• Experience with multi-engine database estates (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Strong governance of change management, patching, and backups.

Responsibilities

• Own availability, resilience, and recovery for all database platforms (cloud and shipboard).
• Lead incident response and RCA, providing 24/7 escalation when needed.
• Define roadmaps and set delivery priorities with partner teams.
• Mentor engineers and manage capacity as project demand grows.
• Oversee monitoring, observability, and drift detection across architectures.
• Govern database change management, schema governance, and vendor audits.
