Blue Shield of California is seeking a Sr. Manager, Model Contracts to develop, maintain, and optimize contract templates and related language for provider contracting across networks.

You will lead a team of Contract Specialists and partner with Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Operations to ensure compliant, clear language aligned with business objectives. The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and expert knowledge of California managed care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Advanced degree (JD/MBA/MPH/MHA) preferred.
• At least 8 years in health plan operations, provider contracting, or related fields.
• 4 years of prior people management experience supervising, coaching, and evaluating staff.
• Extensive knowledge of managed healthcare in California, including risk models and regulatory compliance.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and document organization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to collaborate with legal, business, operational, technical, and leadership teams.
• Proficiency with Word, document management, version control, and contract lifecycle systems.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain, and optimize standardized contract templates, exhibits, amendments, and related docs.
• Ensure templates are clear, accurate, compliant, and operationally usable.
• Collaborate with Legal, Network Management, Contracting, Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
• Lead and manage the Model Contracts team of Contract Specialists.
