Job summary

Progyny, based in New York City, is seeking a Manager of Medical Economics & Analytics to support the Operations team. You will become SME on claims, utilization, and provider network data, leading a team to deliver high-quality analyses, dashboards, and data products for cross-functional stakeholders.

You will collaborate with Data Engineering and IT to advance analytics infrastructure, automate workflows, and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with analytical focus in healthcare, economics, finance, statistics, data analytics, or related field.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in healthcare, insurance, analytics or related field, including 1-3 years of people management.
• Advanced SQL skills with large datasets (30M+ rows).
• Experience with modern data platforms and tools such as AWS, dbt, Databricks or similar.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI/Looker) and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology, provider networks, and healthcare operations.
• Experience leading analysts and establishing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with IDEs and AI-enabled tools for analytics workflows.
• Ability to work with Data Engineering and IT to define data requirements and scalable solutions.
• Excellent time and project management skills and ability to prioritize requests.

Responsibilities

• Become SME in Progyny claims, utilization, provider network, operational, and financial data; translate datasets into actionable insights.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of analysts delivering analyses, reporting, and data solutions to operational stakeholders.
• Build, maintain, and optimize scalable analyses, data models, dashboards, and reporting using SQL, Excel, and modern tools.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop KPIs, and deliver insights for operational decisions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT to advance analytics infrastructure, data models, pipelines, and governance.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and drive cross-functional initiatives for efficiency.
