Position Summary:

Independently and proactively leads matrixed cross-functional project management teams and projects within the Medical Affairs Cell Therapy Organization.

This role reports directly into the Senior Director of Strategy and Operations and will be a strategic and operational portfolio partner to the Worldwide Cell Therapy Medical Leads in delivering on key portfolio-related priorities. Activities include global/regional brand and medical planning, budget planning, congress planning, and planning/execution of special projects. This role also partners across Commercial, Hematology, and Cell Therapy to lead/support strategic planning responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with the Medical Leads to facilitate the development, execution, and strategic reviews of various Medical Affairs functions involved in the global brand, launch, and Medical Affairs plans to develop/communicate the Medical view effectively in global medical and marketing planning (including Medical Plans and IEPs for assigned products, ensuring alignment with TA portfolio objectives/strategies).
  2. Maintain Medical plans, manage dependencies across functions, and provide transparency to medical leads and senior leaders (including congress planning and management). Prepare comprehensive project plans and progress reports for team leads, senior management, and other stakeholders as needed.
  3. Track & measure performance and identify risk areas or barriers impeding successful execution. Work with teams, Medical leadership, and/or senior management to resolve issues.
  4. Partner with Medical Team Lead/core team to facilitate medical matrix team meetings, ensure agendas focus on key deliverables, risk management, issue identification, and resolution. Ensure key actions and agreements are understood, and the team is held accountable for their commitments.
  5. Partner with Finance and Medical leads to facilitate the budget process, including trade-off discussions, and ensure the brand budgets (including annual budget, monthly projections, accruals, variance analysis, and future planning) are on track.
  6. Identify, develop, and implement new processes to facilitate the evolution of the Operations function and improve efficiency of the Medical organization.
  7. Build relationships with key stakeholders in Commercial, Hematology, and Cell Therapy Medical teams to influence strategic alignment on key Medical objectives.
  8. Ensure Medical Team members are fully represented in decision-making processes and knowledge exchange occurs.
  9. Ensure key communication points/metrics are captured and disseminated (dashboards, tracking scientific communications).
  10. Train/onboard new project managers, support staff, and/or contingent workers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. BS/BA required; 5+ years industry experience (research in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academia preferred); science background strongly recommended.
  2. Advanced project management skills, experience in matrix management, budget management, metrics, and senior leadership communication (Commercial, R&D experience a plus).
  3. Ability to lead and engage in complex strategic scientific discussions, develop/summarize clear follow-up/action plans, and drive performance.
  4. Ability to build relationships, influence, and engage organizationally at all levels in a rapidly changing environment.
  5. Highly effective written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Highly organized and motivated, with the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
  7. Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel, SharePoint, TEAMS, and other analytics & business intelligence tools (Tableau, Ariba, SAP, Workday, etc.) are strongly desired.
  8. Comfort with ambiguity, driving change, and innovation across a matrix.
  9. Experience with drug development, commercialization, healthcare, and clinical trial management is a plus.
