Job summary

Johnson & Johnson, a leader in health care, seeks a Sr. Manager, Media and Issues, to safeguard and elevate corporate reputation. You will guide global media relations, advise senior leaders, and lead crisis response with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate, timely communications in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires 8–10 years in communications, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and proven ability to manage high‑visibility issues. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8–10 years in media relations, issues management, corporate communications, or public affairs.
• Experience managing high‑risk, high‑visibility issues in regulated industries (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare).
• Ability to counsel senior executives and influence decision‑making under pressure.
• Strong understanding of global media landscapes and crisis communications best practices.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead global media relations and issues management strategy for DePuy Synthes, including proactive storytelling and reactive response.
• Advise senior leaders on reputational risk and external narratives; prepare spokespersons for high‑visibility situations.
• Develop crisis and issues management plans with message frameworks and escalation protocols.
• Manage media inquiries on sensitive topics like product quality, regulatory actions, litigation, and business transformation.
• Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Quality, Medical Affairs, HR, and Commercial teams for aligned communications.
• Monitor external media and stakeholder landscape to provide regular insights and recommendations.
• Produce executive briefing materials, Q&A, statements, and talking points for sensitive circumstances.
• Support enterprise initiatives, including business transformation and separation activities, with clear messaging.
