Qualifications

• Federal tax experience with financial instruments and/or M&A in public accounting, corporate tax department, law firm, or similar.
• CPA/EA/attorney licensed status in state of residence.
• Knowledge of financial instruments and corporate tax matters across industries.
• Strong project management and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Preferred: LLM in Taxation.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering due diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings to clients.
• Identify and develop high value tax opportunities for clients.
• Assist clients on financial instruments and related M&A tax issues such as recapitalization, restructuring and bankruptcy transactions, classification, sales, and exchanges of financial instruments, deductibility of interest, and hedging transactions.
• Planning, managing and executing on advice engagements with limited supervision.
• Develop, motivate, and train team members.
