This role plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and managing external technology partnerships that support the company’s strategic growth in agricultural innovation. It blends technical expertise, business acumen, and relationship management to proactively scout emerging technologies that align with long-Mosaic’s strategic plan. The individual will lead efforts to assess agronomic and economic viability, engage with potential licensors, and support due diligence and contract negotiations. Beyond identifying new opportunities, the role also oversees the implementation and performance of existing licensed technologies, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and strategic goals. Additionally, this position contributes to out-licensing initiatives by helping position internal innovations for external commercialization, maximizing value creation across the organization. Success in this role requires a collaborative mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate complex cross-functional environments to drive innovation and growth.
Market Scouting & Intelligence: Continuously monitor the global agricultural technology landscape to identify emerging innovations that align with business strategy.
Agronomic & Economic Evaluation: Conduct initial assessments of potential technologies, including working with the agronomy team to evaluate agronomic performance, and collaborating with R&D and other functions to examine scalability, regulatory feasibility, and economic impact across target geographies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Initiate and cultivate relationships with potential licensors, including universities, startups, research institutions, and multinational companies. Represent the company in exploratory discussions and early-stage negotiations.
Due Diligence Support: Partner with internal legal, R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams to support technical and business due diligence. Contribute to risk assessments, IP evaluations, and strategic recommendations.
Partnership Oversight: Act as the primary liaison for existing licensors, ensuring clear communication, alignment on deliverables, and mutual understanding of goals. Facilitate regular check-ins and joint planning sessions.
Project Management: Lead cross-functional implementation teams to integrate licensed technologies into the company’s pipeline. Track progress against milestones, manage timelines, and proactively address challenges.
Contract Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with licensing agreements, including reporting requirements, milestone payments, and intellectual property obligations. Maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness.
Technology Positioning: Collaborate with internal R&D and commercial teams to identify proprietary innovations with potential for external licensing. Help define value propositions and market positioning.
Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with licensees to ensure successful technology transfer, ongoing collaboration, and mutual value creation. Serve as a point of contact for feedback and issue resolution.
