Position Summary

The Senior Manager, IT PMO & M&A Programs is a hands-on program and portfolio leader responsible for bringing structure, visibility, and execution discipline across the global IT portfolio. The role will manage portfolio governance and reporting, lead selected enterprise technology programs, and serve as the primary program lead for IT activities associated with mergers and acquisitions.

This role will work across infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, data and analytics, digital, business teams, and external partners. Success requires strong judgment, executive communication, the ability to operate in ambiguity, and a bias toward action.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
IT Portfolio & PMO
  • Manage and maintain an integrated portfolio of strategic IT programs and projects, including priorities, milestones, dependencies, resources, budgets, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Own the IT demand intake, prioritization, and portfolio review process in partnership with IT leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Establish practical, consistent standards for project initiation, planning, status reporting, risk and issue management, decision tracking, and closure.
  • Create concise executive dashboards and portfolio reporting that clearly identify progress, delivery risk, resource constraints, key decisions, and financial status.
  • Facilitate regular portfolio and program governance reviews and ensure actions, owners, and escalations are driven to closure.
  • Identify competing priorities, capacity gaps, and cross-program dependencies early and help leadership make informed sequencing and resource decisions.
  • Track major project financials, vendor commitments, forecasts, and CapEx/OpEx implications in coordination with IT and Finance.
M&A Due Diligence & Integration
  • Serve as the IT program manager for acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, and other transaction-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate IT due diligence activities, information requests, risk reviews, technology inventories, cost estimates, and remediation actions.
  • Develop and manage Day 1, Day 30/60/90, and longer-term IT integration plans with clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, and escalation paths.
  • Coordinate integration workstreams across cybersecurity, infrastructure, networks, identity, end-user computing, ERP/business applications, data, vendors, and IT operations.
  • Partner with Corporate Development, Finance, HR, Legal, Operations, acquired-company teams, and external advisors to ensure technology readiness and business continuity.
  • Identify technology risks, technical debt, integration costs, resource requirements, and potential synergies, and translate findings into actionable plans for leadership.
  • Build and continuously improve reusable IT M&A playbooks, templates, checklists, governance routines, and lessons learned.
Strategic Program Delivery
  • Lead selected high-priority, cross-functional IT programs from planning through implementation and stabilization.
  • Develop integrated program plans, milestones, governance structures, resource needs, risk mitigation plans, and success measures.
  • Coordinate internal technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and other delivery partners.
  • Drive timely decisions and escalation of risks or issues that could materially affect scope, schedule, cost, business continuity, or expected benefits.
  • Ensure major programs remain aligned to business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes rather than only technical milestones.
Education and Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT project/program management, portfolio management, PMO, or technology transformation roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional enterprise technology programs and multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong experience with IT portfolio governance, executive reporting, prioritization, risk management, resource planning, and project financials.
  • Practical M&A experience, including technology due diligence, Day 1 readiness, integration planning, and/or post-close execution.
  • Ability to coordinate programs spanning multiple technology domains such as infrastructure, cybersecurity, ERP/business applications, data, cloud, and digital platforms.
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and bring structure and accountability to ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting a global, multi-site manufacturing or industrial organization.
  • Experience with ERP, infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, or enterprise transformation programs.
  • PMP, PgMP, or comparable project/program management certification.
  • Experience with portfolio and program tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, ServiceNow SPM, Jira, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Leadership Profile
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented leader who can move comfortably between executive-level portfolio discussions and detailed program follow-through.
  • Brings clarity to ambiguity and quickly establishes practical governance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Proactive risk manager with strong business judgment and financial awareness.
  • Confident communicator who can challenge constructively, influence across functions, and maintain accountability in a matrixed environment.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced M&A, integration, and transformation environments.
Measures of Success
  • Improved visibility, prioritization, and predictability across the IT portfolio.
  • Early identification and resolution of resource constraints, dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Clear, decision-oriented executive reporting for major programs and investments.
  • Consistent governance and accountability across strategic IT initiatives.
  • Successful IT Day 1 readiness and disciplined post-close execution for acquisitions.
  • More repeatable and scalable project, portfolio, and M&A integration practices.
