Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting‑edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Team

The Internal Communications team works behind the scenes to keep employees around the world informed about our business, inspired about the future, and connected with Netflix’s mission—to entertain the world. We work closely with senior leadership to bring the company strategy and culture to life in transparent and engaging ways. From producing global town halls and shaping leadership meetings to fresh, creative experiences that bring employees along, this team has a front‑row seat to what’s happening across the business—and helps ensure everyone else gets a clear view, too.

We’re a fast‑moving, collaborative group that takes the work seriously, but not ourselves. We love what we do and genuinely enjoy working together—whether that’s solving big comms challenges, obsessing over the details that matter (we love a serial comma debate), or jamming on out‑of‑the‑box solutions.

The Role

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a strategic thinker, a relationship builder, and a trusted advisor to teams across multiple disciplines, especially product and technical teams. You'll partner closely with leaders across the Product & Tech, Ads, Games, and FinOps organizations, crafting and leading global communications strategies (including executive communications) that keep employees engaged and informed about the business.

You’re someone who can work on a variety of projects with ease and is energized by learning and engaging with different audiences and partners regularly. You connect the dots quickly and see around corners to craft a strong communications strategy. The right candidate brings a consultative approach, knows how to ask the right questions to quickly understand different parts of the business, and builds deep trust with partners across all levels of leadership.

This role is based in our Los Gatos office, reporting to the Senior Director, Internal Communications.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Staying connected with the business to design global communications strategies, draft executive communications, and manage organizational events (e.g., org town halls)
  • Building a consistent drumbeat of conversational, easy‑to‑understand updates through core channels (e.g., email, Slack, podcasts, video, events)
  • Proactively communicating with key audiences to ensure they feel brought along and understand how they fit into the overall business strategy and priorities
  • Managing the flow of communications using editorial calendars and planning tools to ensure messages are timely and don’t overwhelm the business
  • Moving projects and plans forward in a collaboratively with a sharp eye for detail and execution
  • Proposing solutions that are both flexible and scalable to the business’s evolving needs
  • Acting as a strategic advisor to guide leaders’ communications styles and approaches that will help build connection and long‑term trust with employees
  • Consistently reimagining new and creative ways to share information and engage audiences
  • Anticipating challenges and helping the team navigate ambiguity
  • Managing team members (Specialists, Managers) — hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and developing talent.
  • Learning and applying AI tools as necessary, and helping team members develop working fluency.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in communications, preferably within technology, entertainment, media, and/or advertising industries
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills—an expert simplifier
  • The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and to work autonomously with a wide variety of internal partners at all levels
  • To be scrappy and entrepreneurial—eager to roll up your sleeves and get work done, leaning into new creative ways to connect with audiences
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity, knowing when to slow down, speed up, or escalate to unblock something
  • Strong discretion when working on confidential or sensitive information
  • Exceptional organizational skills, resourcefulness, good judgment, and effective time management
  • Experience working across a variety of channels and tools (e.g., town halls, videos, broad email distribution, Google Workspace, Slack)
