Job summary

Brightsmith is seeking a seasoned grid interconnection professional to lead the Northeast projects' path to the grid. You will manage from initial application through going live, coordinating with grid operators, utilities, engineers, and internal teams.

This role requires 8+ years in interconnection, transmission planning, or energy regulation, plus strong project management and the ability to explain complex topics to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, public policy, or similar field.
• 8+ years working on grid interconnection, transmission planning, or energy regulation.
• Hands-on experience managing the technical studies and agreements required to connect a power project to the grid.
• Strong project management and coordination across stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of federal energy regulations and timelines.
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-experts and leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Background in battery storage or renewable energy strongly preferred.

Their team manages the full process of connecting storage and generation projects to the grid and stays ahead of changing industry regulations.

Position Summary

Lead the process of connecting new storage projects to the grid in Northeast power markets, from initial application through going live. Keep an eye on regulatory changes across the industry so the company can plan ahead.

What You'll Do

What You Need
