Job summary

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is seeking a Senior Manager, Institutional Giving who will identify, steward and secure funding from foundations and corporate donors. This role travels about 30% and works under the Director of Major Gifts and Institutional Giving.

You will lead a small team, write compelling proposals, build strategic donor plans and collaborate across program, communications and monitoring teams to showcase impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in nonprofit development/fundraising; institutional funders preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ management experience.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Establish a clear vision and strategy to grow SPLC's institutional donor portfolio.
• Write, edit, and prepare grant proposals and reports for institutional funders.
• Manage a staff of three using SMARTIE objectives and provide coaching.
• Provide operational support by supervising two staff.
• Liaise with program, communications, and M&E to present program impact.
• Maintain systems for prospecting and cultivating donors.
• Develop strategies for fundraising from foundations and other institutional prospects.
• Uphold JEDI principles by engaging diverse collaborators.
