Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to lead the defense subsidiary’s accounting function, covering general ledger, project cost accounting, billing, and reconciliations within Deltek Costpoint and NetSuite. The role ensures U.S.

GAAP compliance, ASC 606 revenue recognition for government contracts, and compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA requirements, while mentoring accounting staff and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including government contracting/GovCon environments.
• 2+ years of people management or team leadership experience.
• Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA compliance requirements.
• Experience with indirect rate structures, cost pools, and incurred cost submissions.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 for government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the defense subsidiary, including general ledger, project cost accounting, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost allocations within Deltek Costpoint and NetSuite.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis for GAAP compliance.
• Establish and monitor indirect rate structures and cost pools in line with FAR Part 31 and CAS with input from Program Management.
