Job summary

BMO Financial Group seeks a regulatory risk/compliance leader to drive governance and controls across major risk types. You’ll partner with senior leaders to align programs with the Bank’s Risk Management Framework and regulatory obligations.

The role designs and coordinates evidence-based controls, supports change initiatives, and mentors teams to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across diverse risk domains.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing operational and regulatory compliance risk management.
• Experience supporting card payment products and payment channels, including credit, debit, and commercial card programs.
• Knowledge of payment network operating rules, transaction lifecycles, and associated risk and control requirements.
• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience
• Program Management skills - Expert.
• Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory compliance risk programs across major risk types.
• Support design and implementation of governance, policies, and controls.
• Coordinate actions with 1LOD/2LOD and senior management on regulatory matters.
• Monitor adherence to the Risk Management Framework and regulatory obligations.
• Lead and mentor teams to improve risk identification and remediation efforts.
