BMO Financial Group is seeking an experienced risk and compliance leader to oversee operational and regulatory risk for the North American Retail Payments unit. The role involves shaping governance, controls, and evidence-based interventions across multiple risk types and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

The position requires deep regulatory acumen, program management skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans aligned with the bank's risk

Qualifications

• Typically 5–7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent combination.
• Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
• Verbal & written communication skills are in-depth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational and regulatory compliance risk for the North American Retail Payments unit.
• Contribute to governance and control requirements for products, processes, and channels.
• Support development and coordination of evidence-based controls across multiple risk types.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update programs to stay competitive and effective.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and address gaps and issues with action plans.
