Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an experienced accounting leader to manage internal accounting operations, technology-enabled close processes, and regulatory reporting. You will guide the interpretation of the Uniform System of Accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP and FERC requirements.

You will recruit, develop, and lead staff, strengthen internal controls, and coordinate with external auditors. This role blends technical accounting expertise with strategic planning and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and planning.
• Strong GAAP and FERC regulatory accounting knowledge.
• Proficient with computer financial systems and MS Office; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close using General Ledger and regulatory ledger.
• Develop and refine accounting policies and standards.
• Provide analysis and support to Operations and Finance; build relationships.
• Prepare external reports for regulators and shareholders; assist auditors.
• Lead and mentor staff; manage SOX documentation and audits.
