Expertise in FAA P21, AS9100, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement is required. Lead a team, manage resources, and collaborate with operations to balance safety, quality, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of management and Quality experience or Equivalent.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt desired, Green belt required.
• ASQ Certification highly desired.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or verified military equivalent desired.

Responsibilities

• Bring Production Helicopters to safe operation, ground run, and flight acceptance.
• Resource management and competency development to meet demand.
• Ensure Quality System compliance with FAA guidelines and AS9100.
• Serve as QC contact for customer delivery activities.

Job Title: Senior Quality Manager, Flight Line

Department: Quality

Summary of Position

The Senior Quality Manager of Flight Line Quality Control Management, and Execution of Helicopter Flight Line of an FAA part 21 approved Quality System. The Senior Manager, Quality Control of Flight Line will ensure compliance and safety, balanced with cost in alignment with operations to safely bring acft to pre-flight, ground test, and flight testing. Driving the finalization process to the delivery and acceptance intent on ZERO defect aircraft being presented to customers. Provide technical leadership, leaning on knowledge of FAA P21 requirements, AS9100, and aerospace knowledge. The Senior Quality Manager of Flight Line, will also focus on personnel management and development, ensuring competencies equal to the business and market requirements. The Senior Manager will have a Continuous Improvement approach to processes while executing to the business plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safe and on time actions bringing Production Helicopters to Operation, Ground Run, Flights, Acceptance & Delivery to Customer 20%
• Resource Management, deployment of resources, training and building out Competencies of resources to meet customer and market demand 20%
• Ensure compliance of Quality System with all relevant, FAA guidelines, procedures and policies 15%
• Represents QC as the prime contact for customer delivery activities 10%
• Proactive measures in the planning and execution of aircraft operations, customer Acceptance and Delivery activity 20%
• Continuous Improvement: using methods like DMAIC, statistical analysis to understand and improve processes and contributing to the efficiency of the Flight Line Operation 15%

Qualifications for Position

A. Education

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related technical discipline

B. Experience

• 5+ years of management and Quality experience or Equivalent

C. Competencies & Attributes

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of AS9100 QMS and FAA requirements.

Experience in Lean/Six Sigma, and a demonstrated approach to the job is a must.

Must be a Leader and Change Agent with sound fundamentals in Quality Principles in Aerospace and Continuous Improvement.

This Leader must demonstrate the ability to engage with partners and shareholders to find solutions, in execution and process.

The candidate mut also demonstrate the ability to engage with stakeholders at Executive levels, internally, and externally including customers from the commercial and defense sectors.
