Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company in Chicago is seeking a Senior Procurement Leader to guide a team of external manufacturing buyers, translating priorities into strategic work plans and execution expectations. Chicago/Aon Center; base salary range $120,800.00 - $151,000.00; hybrid work with some in‑person

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, operations, engineering or related field.
Significant procurement experience including external manufacturing or related categories.
Demonstrated people leadership experience with coaching high‑performing teams.
Strong sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, contracting and execution skills.
Experience shaping category strategies and supplier plans.
Ability to connect execution with long‑term strategy across functions.
Curiosity about AI and digital tools to improve visibility and decision making.
Strong communication and stakeholder management across matrixed teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of external manufacturing buyers responsible for sourcing and supplier management.
Translate priorities into clear buyer focus, workplans, and execution expectations.
Coach buyers through sourcing decisions, supplier issues, negotiations, and execution challenges.
Drive short‑ to mid‑term sourcing execution including supplier selection, bids, negotiations, and contracting.
Oversee day‑to‑day supplier management, issue resolution, and performance follow‑up.
Deliver productivity, inflation management, cash, service, and supply continuity within the portfolio.
Develop and maintain category and supplier strategies aligned with business needs and long‑term direction.
Shape a 3‑year view of supplier needs and supply base development for growth and resilience.
Lead Supplier Relationship Management and strengthen supplier development over time.
Partner cross‑functionally with R&D, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Sales, and Operations.
Collaborate with supply chain on network design and make vs. buy analyses.
Remove barriers to execution by coordinating across internal teams.
Establish team routines and governance with visible priorities and ownership.
Ensure consistency in sourcing processes and supplier communications.
Support risk management, business continuity, and portfolio governance.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement ways of working.
Monitor performance metrics related to sourcing delivery and supplier performance.
