Job summary

Kraft Heinz is seeking a Sr. Manager, External Manufacturing Procurement in Chicago, IL to lead a team of buyers responsible for day-to-day sourcing, supplier management, and execution across the external manufacturing portfolio.

You will translate business priorities into disciplined execution, shape mid- and long-term category agendas, and drive continuous improvement in procurement ways of working with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, operations, engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
• Procurement experience across external manufacturing, finished goods, ingredients, packaging, CAPEX or related categories.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, coaching high-performing teams.
• Strong sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, contracting, and operational execution within complex environments.
• Experience developing category strategies and supplier plans linking near-term execution to long-term needs.
• Curiosity about AI and digital tools to improve visibility and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of base external manufacturing buyers responsible for sourcing and supplier management.
• Translate priorities into clear workplans and execution expectations for the team.
• Coach buyers through sourcing decisions and negotiations to strengthen capability and results.
• Drive disciplined short- to mid-term execution across the portfolio including bid processes and contracting coordination.
• Oversee supplier management routines, issue resolution, and performance follow-up.
• Develop and maintain category and supplier strategies balancing immediate needs with longer-term direction.
• Shape a 3-year view of supplier needs, supply base development, and financial delivery.
• Lead SRM and identify development opportunities to strengthen the supply base.
