Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a senior communications leader to develop broad-market strategies that position the organization and its leaders as national healthcare authorities. You will guide media relations, digital storytelling, and executive messaging to reach patients, clinicians, and stakeholders.

You will oversee a high-volume team, coach executives on public speaking, and align internal and external communications across departments to support organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in corporate communications, media/public relations, journalism or equivalent.
• Experience in an integrated communications department collaborating with internal, external, marketing and digital teams.
• Experience planning and overseeing external events with a strong media presence.
• Experience with Public Affairs or Government Relations communications (preferred).
• Proven track record leading communications teams in large organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develops a market or division-wide communications strategy to position the organization and leaders as national healthcare leaders.
• Provides creative direction for communications targeting local and national media, team members, stakeholders, patients, and consumers.
• Leads the team in managing proactive and reactive media relations and digital storytelling opportunities.
• Plans and executes media events and interviews; counsels executives on issues management.
• Maximizes storytelling across traditional media, social media, and internal communications.
